The Portland Observer, Thursday, January 8, 1942

Mrs. Emory Beale, whose girlhood was spent in Portland, passed away at her 
home in Ypsilanti, Tuesday night.  She had been in a very serious condition 
for the past two weeks suffering from a heart ailment.

Her maiden name was Minnie Jenkins and she was a daughter of the late Mr. and 
Mrs. Oscar N. Jenkins and sister of the late O. R. Jenkins, of Portland.  She 
was a graduate of Portland High School and of Ypsilanti college.  Following 
her marriage to Mr. Beale, she had made her home in Ypsilanti.

Mrs. Beale is survived by four children, Richard and Alice at home, Mrs. Helen 
Mohler, of Birmingham, and Robert, of Mt. Clemens.

Mrs. O. R. Jenkins, Mrs. Adelbert Dinsmore and Robert Olmstead, of Portland, 
will go to Ypsilanti for the funeral, which will be held there Friday.
