The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, July 13, 1961

Funeral service will be held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon at the Neller 
funeral home in Portland for John I. Beard, Sr., 64, who died early Wednesday 
morning at his home on Knox road, route three, Portland.

He is survived by his wife, Tracy; three sons, John Beard, Jr., and Donald of 
Portland, and LeWain of San Diego, Calif.; one stepson, George Yonker of 
Lewiston, Maine; 14 grandchildren; two brothers, Charles of Portland and 
Robert of Lyons; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Morton of San Francisco, Calif., and 
Mrs. Clare Howard of Portland.

Rev. Robert Treat will officiate and burial will be at Portland cemetery.
