Faithful Member of U.B.Church Since 1894. One by one the elderly people of our village are leaving us. This time it is the lady commonly know as Mrs Clara Beard. For twelve years she has lived in her home on Sixth Avenue where she has been in close harmony with her friends and neighbors. She, although 81 years of age and having had several falls, was nevertheless active and ambitious, always using her utmost strength to do her work and care for a little garden. She was an admirable christian character and it was a pleasure and inspiration to visit with her. The funeral was held at the United Brethren Church, the church of her loyalty, on Wednesday afternoon, Rev. R.I.Boadway preached. the singing was in a male quartette-Howard Klahn, Homer Barlett, Lewi VanDecar and Rev. Boadway. Burial was at Lakeside Cemetery. OBITUARY Clarissa Ann Morrow was born March 21, 1852, in the state of Ohio. She departed this life May 15, 1933. at the farm home in Odessa, where the youngest son now resides, at the age of 81 years, one month and 25 days. She was united in marriage to William Lewis Beard, July 1, 1874. To this union were born three children; Vernia D, now Mrs.John Begerow; Byron W. of Perry, and Ernest I.J. on the old home farm. She was converted and with her husband joined the United Brethren Church in the winter of 1896, remaining remaining a faithful member until the final summons. She was a kind and loving mother and will e greatly missed by those who knew her best. Since the death of her husband in 1920 she has maintained a home in Lake Odessa,(most of that time she lived alone), except the last four years a granddaughter Clarissa Begerow has been with her much of the time. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, the three children, thirteen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. "Calm on the bosom of thy God Fair spirit rest thee now, Even while with us thy footsteps trod His seal was on thy brow, Lone is the path, and sad the bowere Whence the meek smile is gone, But oh a brighter home than ours, In heaven is now thine own."
