                                 ROBERT H. BEARD

A rural Lyons resident, Robert Hugh Beard, 75, of 3585 Staley road died suddenly 
at his home Tuesday evening.

He was born March 29, 1894 and he and his wife Nina celebrated their 55th 
wedding anniversary recently. He was a retired farmer.

Besides is wife Nina he leaves two sons Robert C.Beard of Portland, Richard with 
the Merchant Marines in Vietnam; two daughters, Mrs.June Henry of Portland and 
Mrs.Betty Birky of Gibson City, Ill.; 15 grandchildren and six great-
grandchildren; two sisters Mrs.Mary Morton of Santa Clara,Calif. and Mrs.Clare 
Peckins of Portland.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2 pm at Neller Funeral Home in Portland. 
Rev.Carl Noffsinger will officiate and burial will be in Portland Cemetery.
