     Excerpts from Obituary

       ELWOOD S. BEARD

Died Saturday May 4, 1957-age 66 at Grand Rapids Hospital.
Pvt.119 Machine Gun Bn WW I.
Service held Thursday at 2 p.m. from Phelps Funeral Chapel.
Rev. Heath T.Goodwin, Pastor of First Methodist Church officiated.
Interment was in McBride Cemetery.
Bearers were Clarence Misner, John Bippley, Harry Carroll, Tim Sullivan, Emmett 
Getts and Jesse Wilson.
Those attending from out of town were Mr.and Mrs. Barney Szumal, David & Tom of 
Mt.Clemens, Mrs and Mrs.Guy Messacar, Mrs.Nell Thomas & Mrs.Helen Poindexter of 
Lansing; Mr and Mrs.Blaine Beard of Cannon Falls,Minn., Mrs.Jane McFeaters of 
Pittsburgh,PA., Mr and Mrs.Elwood Griffith, Alyce and John of Kalamazoo. Mr and 
Mrs. Grant Beard of Detroit,Mr.& Mrs, Jack Hyland of Muskegon,Mr.& Mrs.Barney 
Retell of Fair Haven,Mrs. Bessie Neitzel & Lewis Neitzel of Greenville,Mr. & 
Mrs.Fred Buholtz of Stanton, Mrs.Carolyn Raymond of McBride, Arley Crawford & Mr 
and Mrs.Otto Crawford of Lakeview;Mrs.Esther Zimmer of Muir, Mrs.Maude Murphy 
and Helen Hopkins of Lyons; Earl Imoff of Owosso,Mrs Theo Hansen,Peter Peterson
