Sentinel-Std. - Friday, November 21, 1975

Claire (Jake) Beardslee, 65 of Sheridan, died Wednesday at Butterworth hospital 
in Grand Rapids.

He was a lifelong resident of Sheridan and an Oldsmobile dealer the past 33 
years. He was a member of the Masonic lodge of Sheridan, charter member of the 
Lions club and member and secretary of the Sheridan hospital board. 

He belonged to the Greenville Country club, Michigan and National Auto Dealers 
association and was former mayor and councilman of Sheridan. 

Among his survivors are his wife, Suzanne; two sons, Max of Carmel, Ind., and 
Dennis of Sheridan; daughter, Mrs. Marcia Waldron of Grand Rapids, five 
grandchildren and a brother, Dale of Greenville.

Services will be Sunday at 2 pm at the Stebbins-Simpson funeral home at 
Sheridan. Rev. Gerald Bowen of the First Congregational church of Sheridan will 
officiate and interment will be at Sheridan cemetery.
