Rev. Vernon H. Beardsley, 84, of Lake Odessa, died Monday morning at Pennock 
hospital in Hastings following an illness of six weeks.    Born July 28, 1889, 
in Ionia county he was the son of James and Hanna Ward Beardsley.

He was a retired United Brethren minister having served churches in Lake 
Odessa, Woodland, Charlotte, Grand Rapids, Lansing and Woodbury.

He retired in 1958 from Housel United Brethren church at Leslie.

January 6, 1909, he was married to Vurbia Troub at Sunfield.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Clayton Goodrich of Sunfield; two grandchildren 
and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Pickens-Koops funeral chapel 
in Lake Odessa. Rev. Isaac Osgood and Rev. Harold Green will officiate and 
interment will be at Lakeside cemetery.
