The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, September 19, 1929

Francis M. Beattie, 79, died in the county house Wednesday after a long 
illness of heart disease which was aggravated by a fall four weeks ago.  The 
funeral services will be held from the home of his brother, Benjamin Beattie, 
Keene, Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock.  The interment will be in the Pinckney 
cemetery.

Mrs. Beattie was born in Keene township, and lived in this county all of his 
life, and resided in Keene township until unable to care for himself, and then 
paid for his care at the county institution.

His survivors are, a daughter, Mrs. Lucy Dow, of Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, 
Mrs. John Wallington, of Saranac; two brothers, Thomas Beattie, Pompeii, and 
Benjamin, of Keene.
