Beattie, died at U.B.A. Home, Grand Rapids, at 1 o’clock this afternoon. The parents have been with him all the week. George H. Allured and Robert Beattie went down on the 4 o’clock train this afternoon. Subsequent Publication: Thursday, September 22, 1904 The remains of George Beattie were received from Grand Rapids by 10:23 train this morning. Funeral service will be at family residence, corner Jefferson and Bliss, at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Subsequent Publication: Monday, September 26, 1904 The funeral of George Beattie, at family residence on Saturday afternoon, was largely attended. The services were by Rev. D. L. Martin; the singing by Mrs. Thane Benedict and Miss Pearl Freeman. There was an abundance of floral testimonials, showing the wide sympathy for family and regard for decedent. Interment was in Highland Park. The bearers were: Charles Longe, Abe Welch, Henry Welch, John Scott, Howard Miner and Frank Corcoran.
