Funeral services for Mrs. John Beattie, 77, who died Monday evening at the 
Ionia hospital, were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 3 o’clock from the 
residence on Lafayette street.  Rev. E. E. Branch of Grand Rapids assisted by 
Rev. George Woolcock of Ionia, officiated.  Interment was at Highland Park 
cemetery.  Floral arrangements were in charge of Mrs. Hiram Darling and Mrs. 
E. W. Krainbrink.  Bearers were Herbert Powell, Hiram Darling, E. W. 
Krainbrink, Arthur Baxter, Mark Simpson, and Claude Brockway.

Floral arrangements were sent by the Ionia White Shrine, Queen Esther Chapter 
of the Order of Eastern Star, Beatrice Rebekah Lodge, the Patriarch Militant, 
the First Baptist church, Dorcas society of the First Baptist church, Odd 
Fellows lodge, and the Eastern Star and Masonic lodges of Clarksville.

Among those in Ionia for the service were Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Sperry of Kansas 
City, Missouri, Mr. and Mrs. A. N. Austin of Saginaw, Robert Powers of 
Detroit; Mrs. S. D. Allured and daughter, Mrs. Gene Smith of Sherwood, Mr. and 
Mrs. Harold Cross of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Bixby and Mrs. Sadie Austin 
of Saginaw, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Simpson of Lowell and MR. and Mrs. John Neller 
of Lansing.
