Lake Odessa Wave - March 1, 1956
          ANNA BECKHOLD DIED MONDAY
   Mrs. Anna Beckhold 83, passed away about midnight Monday at the Greenfield
Nursing Home at Hastings 
where she had been a patient for a month.  She had spent five weeks at Pennock
Hospital with a fractured hip 
caused by a fall at her home.
   Mrs. Beckhold was born in Berlin, Germany and when about seven years of age came
with her parents to 
Baden, Ontario, Canada where she resided until her marriage to Aaron Beckhold in
1894.  She came as a bride 
to the farm in Odessa Township and helped clear the land for farming.  They moved to
the village about 35 
years ago.
   She was a member of the Calvary United Brethren Church and formerly attended the
Carr Church while on 
the farm and was a member of the aid society.
   Surviving are one daughter, Mrs Fred (Edith) Berndt; one son Frank both of rural
Lake Odessa; two 
grandchildren and two great grandchildren and a brother Charlie Holling of
New-Westminister, Canada.
   Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 at the Pickens Funeral Chapel with
burial in Lakeside cemetery.
