Sentinel-Standard - Monday, April 27, 1970

LAKE ODESSA- Richard F. Beckhold, 48, Grand Ledge, died early Monday morning 
in Sparrow hospital in Lansing following a long illness.

Born July 5, 1921, in Lake Odessa, he was a son of Frank and Lulu Koutz 
Beckhold, and a graduate of Lake Odessa high school.

Following service in the U. S. Army in the European theater of operations he 
married Edna m. Lane, of Greenville, January 21, 1956.

The couple had made their home in Grand Ledge the past several years while 
he was employed by an auto firm in Lansing until he became ill.

Among survivors are his wife, his father and step-mother Mr. and Mrs. 
Beckhold; a brother, Frederick of Lake Odessa; a step-brother, Max Hazzard 
of Grand Rapids; three step-sisters, Mrs. Cecil Torrey of Lake Odessa, Mrs. 
Margaret Short of St. Louis, Mo. and Mrs. LeRue McMillan of Buchanan.

The body is at Pickens funeral chapel in Lake Odessa where services will be 
at 2 pm April 29, the Rev. Floyd Nagel officiating.

Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery.
