The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Monday, December 24, 1951

Mrs. Carl Becklund, 62, of 435 North Dexter street died at her home Monday, 
December 24, at 11 a.m. after being ill for some time.  She was born in Sweden 
April 18, 1889, and had been a resident of Ionia for about 42 years.

Surviving besides her husband are three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Sutherland, Mrs. 
Violet Thwaites and Mrs. Ellen Piggott of Ionia; a son, Henry, of Eaton 
Rapids; and six grandchildren.

Services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Myers funeral home.  The 
Rev. William W. Pixley will officiate.  Interment will be in Balcom cemetery.

Services for Mrs. Carl Becklund of 435 North Dexter street who died Christmas 
Eve were conducted at the Myers funeral home Thursday at 2 p.m.  The Rev. 
William W. Pixley officiated.

Bearers were Maurice Sutherland, Melvin Thwaites, Jerry Piggott and Victor 
Hedstrom.  The first three were son-in-laws of Mrs. Becklund.  Interment was 
in Balcom cemetery.

Relatives attending the services from away were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Aspgren of 
Grand Rapids and Mr. and Mrs. John Soderman, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Coderman, Mr. 
and Mrs. Adolph Oberg and Elmer Aspgren of Lansing.
