Ionia Standard, 5 Mar 1886

Saranac – Earl, son of Pierce Bedell of South Boston, died suddenly from 
paralysis of the heart last Monday.  The disease was brought about from 
diphtheria.  He was 19 years old.  The family of Mr. Bedell have been terribly 
afflicted with diphtheria this winter, and as he is in straitened circumstances, 
a subscription paper has been started for his relief.  It is a very worthy object.
