Mrs. Beebe was born in Ontario in 1838. Her maiden name was Bowman. In the year 1855 she was married to Chrysler Beebe. Mrs. Beebe was the mother of four children, three of whom are still living. They are Charles of Bay City, Mrs. Emma Ginder of Gowan and Helen of this city; one brother, Wm. D. Bowman of London, Canada also survives. Mr. and Mrs. Beebe were residents of Battle Creek for a number of years. It was while living there that Mr. Beebe preceded her to the great beyond. After his death, Mrs. Beebe lived with her daughter, Mrs. Hattie Daken, until that daughter’s death a year ago when she came to Belding to live. Mrs. Beebe became a member of the Methodist church when seventeen years of age. About thirty years ago she became identified with the Spiritualists society, in which faith she died. Mrs. Beebe had been in failing health for a number of years, death being the result of a nervous collapse. Funeral services were held at the home Monday with Mrs. Flowers, speaker of the Spiritualist church Grand Rapids, in charge. Interment was made in the old Belding cemetery. Among those attending the funeral were C. Beebe and daughter, Mrs. Lillian Schultz, of Bay City; Mrs. Emma Ginder and Robert Vanderlip of Gowan; R. J. Dake of Battle Creek; and Mrs. Sadie McLaughlin of Grand Rapids.
