Portland Review, 14 May 1990

Walter Deal Beech of Houghton Lake, formerly of Portland, died May 4, 1990.  He 
was born in Grand Ledge on October 11, 1922, the son of George and Dora Edith 
Starks Beech.  He had been a supervisor with General Motors in Lansing for 33 
years.  He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Betty; one daughter, Betsy Raines of Houghton Lake; 
three sons, Michael, Daniel, and Timothy Beech all of Portland.  He is also 
survived by nine grandchildren.

Services were held at the Steuernol-Axford-McLaren Funeral Home of Prudenville 
with the Rev. Fred Wynkoop officiating.  Cremation took place following the 
services.  Memorials can be given to the American Heart Association.
