Excerpts from Portland Online Obituary

BETTY MIRIAM (SUMNER) BEECH
Died August 20, 2021-age 93 of Portland.
Born April 7, 1928 daughter of Elmer and Florence (Bessemer) Sumner.
Betty was one of seven siblings.
She married Walter Deal Beech in May of 1945.
They had four children, Michael, Daniel, Timothy and Betsy.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Walter, daughter Betsy, six sisters 
and one brother.
Survived by he sons Michael (Susan), Daniel (Janice), Timothy (Barbara), nine 
grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Betty attended Portland school and along with a couple of her sisters sand on a 
radio station.
During WW II she volunteered as a nurse's aide at a local hospital, later worked 
a short time at GM.
She loved to cook and bake, music, reading, nature, "Jeopardy", her pets (cat-
Joey), most of all her family & grandchildren.
Special thanks to all who cared for her at PALMC, especially Rachel, Chelsea, 
Sandi and Kim. Grace Hospice and Staff were very helpful and kind.
Betty will be missed by her family and friends. Rest in Peace.
