The Ionia Daily Sentinel, Thursday, January 29, 1914
After a long illness from asthma and heart trouble, Cyrus H. Beedy died 
Saturday night, Jan. 24, 1914.  He was born in Franklin, Maine, Feb. 18, 1840, 
and with his parents moved to Wisconsin when he was a young boy.  At the 
beginning of the civil war he enlisted and served to the close.  After the war 
he resided in Iowa eight years and there he was united in marriage to Miss 
Elfa Hinds.  They moved to Michigan and have lived in this place and vicinity 
about 35 years.  Besides his widow, five children, Guy Beedy of Detroit, Coit 
Beedy of Lansing, Mrs. Clumm Condon and Mrs. Jennie Mead of this place, and 
Mrs. Ina Kohn of Fenwick are left to mourn.  Funeral services conducted by 
Rev. W. A. Biss were held Tuesday afternoon at his late home and the interment 
was in Smyrna cemetery.
