The Hastings Reminder, Tuesday, May 20, 2003

Linda Margaret (Hampel) Begerow, age 65, of Lake Odessa, passed away at 
Pennock Hospital on Monday, May 19, 2003 with her family at her bedside.  
Linda was born in Grand Rapids Sept. 12, 1937 to Theodore and Marian Hampel.

She graduated from Woodland High School in 1957 and was married to Charles 
LaVern Begerow on Dec. 31, 1965.  Linda has been involved in selling Avon 
products for 10 years and was an avid collector of owls.  She loved to crochet 
and knit and won awards at a number of fairs.

Linda is survived by Charles, her loving husband of 37 years; son, Noel 
Begerow of Lake Odessa; daughter, Julie (Calvin) Deatsman of Lake Odessa; step-
daughters, Cheryl (Steven) Eaton of Hastings and Suzan (Lonnie) Miller of 
Bellevue; step-son, Andrew (Jean) Begerow of Mt. Hood, Oregon; 17 
grandchildren; seven great grandsons; brothers and sisters, Keith (Pricilla) 
Hampel, Bruce (Evelyn) Hampel, June Morlok and Joy Blakely.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, James Begerow; daughter, Jill 
Begerow; and infant sister and brother, Faith and Teddy Hampel.

In keeping with Linda’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no 
funeral service or visitation.  The family has suggested that memorial 
contributions be made to the Lakewood Community Ambulance.
