Lake Odessa Wave - August 4, 1960
          JOHN W. BEGEROW PASSED AWAY MONDAY
   John W. Begerow 87, passed away Monday forenoon at the home of his son Forest at
Woodland after a 
short illness.  He had been hospitalized a short time and was at the home of his son
Floyd at Ionia before 
taken to Woodland.
   A native of Caledonia, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Begerow and had spent
most of his life in 
Odessa township before moving to the home in the village in 1940.
   His wife, the former Venia Beard, whom he married in December 25, 1900 passed
away May 4, 1960.
   Surviving besides the sons Forest and Floyd are a daughter, Mrs. Walter
(Clarissa) Peacock of Grand 
Rapids; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and a sister Mrs. Dora Maile of
Grand Rapids.
   Funeral services were held on Wednesday at 1:30 at the Pickens funeral chapel,
with burial in the Lakeside 
cemetery.  Rev. A. J. Pitman officiated.
