Services Held for Rosa C. Beland

Mrs. Rosa C. Beland, 87, passed away Sunday evening at the Eaton County Medical
Facility at Charlotte where she had been a patient eight months.    She was born
Nov. 15, 1882, in Ogden, Ill., daughter of Thomas and Lillian (Gilkinson)
Cogswell, and married Henry A. Beland of Loda, Ill., Feb. 10, 1909, and he
passed away Jan. 20, 1955.  They came to Michigan in 1924, residing at Sunfield
until coming to Lake Odessa in 1937.

Mrs. Beland was a member of Central United Methodist Church, the WSCS and Lake
Odessa Farm Bureau and a former member of Friendship Club.

Surviving are two sons, Henry of Lake Odessa and Thomas of Holt; two daughters,
Mrs. Allen (Leah) Cross of Portland and Mrs. Edgar (Rosa) Fleetham of Sunfield;
14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and a brother, Alfred Neblock of
Kankakee, Ill.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 1:30 at Pickens Funeral Chapel.  Rev.
Marvin Zimmerman and Rev. Luther Brokaw officiated, with burial in Lakeside
Cemetery.
