They were former residents of Portland, having moved to Grand Ledge less than two years ago. George Belcher, who was 17 years old, died first and his mother was so ill that she was not advised of his death. His remains were taken to the home of a brother across the street. A few hours later the mother was taken and a double funeral was held Friday. Burial was in Grand Ledge. George, who was born in Perrinton, was an industrious young man. While in Portland, he assisted Oscar Rice at Temple Theatre, giving close attention to his duties. He had been working in a factory at Grand Ledge. The father, two sisters and two brothers survive. Miss Mildred Belcher lives at home and Mrs. Lillie Peake in Lansing. Cecil and Floyd, the brothers, live in Grand Ledge. Others of the family are ill.
