The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, June 10, 1976
Edward F. Belcher, 73, of 6320 Centerline Road, died at Kent Community 
hospital in Grand Rapids Wednesday.  He was born in Berlin township September 
12, 1902, the son of Frank and Maude Young Belcher.  He married Sarah Rice 
March 29, 1929 in Ionia and he had lived in the Saranac area since 1950.  He 
worked at St. Mary’s hospital in Grand Rapids from 1967-1974 as a carpenter 
and painter. 

Survivors include his wife, Sarah; one son, Edward Belcher Jr., of Saranac; 
four daughters: Shirley Bussell of Ionia, Thelma Lee Hewitt of Ada, Betty Lou 
Bowen of Saranac and Sylvia Sue Belcher of Lowell; eleven grandchildren; and 
two great-grandchildren.

Services will be June 11 at 4 p.m. from the Roetman funeral home in Saranac.  
Rev. James Frank will officiate.  Interment will be at Saranac cemetery.
