Belding, aged 48 years, 4 months and 10 days. The deceased was born in the town of Ashfield, Franklin county, Mass., October 27, 1830. With his father’s family he emigrated to the township of Otisco, Ionia Co., in 1840; and with other pioneers endured the hardships and privations incident to a settlement in a new country. In 1855 he started out in life for himself by purchasing the farm where he resided at the time of his death. In June, 1860, he was married to Sarah P. Mason who died in 1861. On the 8th of April, 1862, he was married to Julia E. Day by whom he had five children, two boys and three girls, all of whom are living and now mourn his loss. He was an influential and respected member of the Otisco Grange, and while his health permitted he was regular in attendance at its meetings; and at a late meeting of the order he was constituted an honorary member. Among those who knew him best his name needs no eulogy. His reputation wherever he was known may be told in one sentence: “He was an honest man in every sense of the word.” File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/mi/ionia/obits/b/belding15939nob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/mifiles/ File size: 1.7 Kb
