Belding died Thursday night at the home of his daughter Mrs. Charles Oesch, west of the city, at the age of 86 years. He had been in failing health for some time and a bed patient for several months. Mr. Belding was born in Otisco township February 19, 1866, the son of Julia Day and Francis Belding who lived on the farm now known as the Earl Nash place. He was married to Isa Bliss in 1886 and she passed away 21 years ago. He was a life long resident of Otisco township and lived on the farm south of Cooley school for 60 years, until the house burned, when he went to live with Mrs. Oesch. He is survived by two sons, Frank of Grand Rapids and Loren of this city and two daughters, Mrs. Fern Oesch and Mrs. Pauline Jewell, 13 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Richmond of Redwood, Calif. and Mrs. Pearl Klingor of Reno, Nev. The funeral service was held Sunday at 2:30 at Fitzjohn’s funeral home, Rev. H.S. Ellis officiated and burial was in Otisco cemetery.
