An examination of the heart revealed, besides some valvular disease, the presence of an organized clot, in the left ventricale of the heart, which from its physical appearance has been forming for two or three months previous to this illness. The physical exertions through which she passed at confinement brought about a loosening of the clot, which eventually floating upward into the aortic orifice blocked the general circulation and brought about death.
