Phebe Eliza, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert King, was born at Marshall, Calhoun county, Mich., December 1, 1840. When four years old her parents moved to Orleans, Ionia county. At the age of 22 she married Mr. T.B. Belding of Otisco, residing in this vicinity until the fall of 1881, when they removed to South Dakota, where she passed from this life to the world beyond, April 17, 1900, and was laid to rest in the Otisco cemetery, April 21st, by the side of her oldest child, little Mary, nephews acting as bearers. The services were conducted by the Rev. Klose at the Methodist church in Belding. The remains were accompanied here by the husband and only daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. W. Perrin, and son of Minneapolis, Minn. She was an idolized wife and mother, and Ellis, the only grandchild will remember grandma as the very best. Four sisters and three brothers are left to mourn for the sister that has gone, Mrs. L.C. Deafendorf, Mrs. Ann Holcombe, Mrs. Abbie Howe, Mrs. Maggie Boss, Messrs. John, Jake and Kimble King, all of whom attended the funeral. Numerous friends will sadly miss her cheerful, loving society and say a good woman has left us.
