June 8, 2022 Excerpts from Portland Obituary JOHN "JACK' FRANCIS BELEN Died June 6, 2022-age 89 of Lansing. Born January 23, 1933, son of Rudolph and Mary Catherine (Jackson) Belen. Member of St.Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church in Lansing & worked at the school for many years. Was know as "Grandpa Jack" Worked for Motor Wheel for several years Veteran of U.S. Army during the Korean War. Preceded in death by his wife Nancy; sisters,Marguerite (John) Vandelville, Dorothy (Evart) Goerge and Julis Whipple; brother, James Belen; brother-in-law Phillip Yeakley. Survived by his children: Marc (Laura) Belen and Robin Kaye Sanford; grandsons, Tyler (Emily) Sanford and Oliver Belen; sister, Mary Yeakley; brother Donald Belen. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am Saturday June 11, 1022 at St.Therese of Lisieux, 102 W.Randolph St., Lansing. Rite of Committal will follow at Mt.Hope Cemetery, Lansing,MI Memorial contributions may be made to the church or the American Heart Association in Jack's memory.
