Mrs. Dr. Bell Passed Away – Thread of Life Was Broken Friday. Mrs. E. Bell wife of Dr. Wm. Bell died at their home in this city last Friday evening, passing peacefully away after an illness of several months duration. The deceased was aged 59 years and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. B. Hoppough old and much respected residents of Smyrna. She was married to Dr. Bell 34 years ago, they resided in the state of New York several years and later at Smyrna, two years ago they moved to this city occupying Mrs. M. A. Coleman’s residence. Mrs. Bell was possessed of a beautiful character and was prominent in social circles being a member of the Ladies Literary Exchange club and also the L.O.T.M. of Smyrna. The funeral service was held at the late residence Sunday afternoon, Rev. J.E. Butler was the officiating clergyman speaking from 2nd Cor. 5-1. The singing was by Mrs. Chas. Ireland accompanied by Mrs. T. Frank Ireland. The remains were borne to the Smyrna cemetery by brothers of the deceased who acted as pall bearers.
