Ionia Sentinel Standard, 8 Dec 1949

Charles R. Bement, 70, died Wednesday at 11 p.m. at the Ionia Convalescent Home
on North Jackson street after being a patient there for about six weeks.  He was
born July 27, 1879, in Montcalm county and lived in Ionia for 36? years.  He had
been an employee of the Pere Marquette railroad for thirty years and in 1941 was
retired on a pension.  For eight years he lived in Grand Rapids.

Surviving are the wife, Erma; one daughter, Mrs. James Scheid, of Lansing; and
two brothers, Ray and Clinton of Crystal Lake.

Funeral services will be held at the Myers funeral home Saturday at 2 p.m.  Dr.
J. Lee Lewis will officiate with interment in Tuttle cemetery.
