The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, February 22, 1926
Ray Bemis, a farmer of Easton township, died Sunday afternoon following an 
operation at a Grand Rapids hospital last Tuesday.  Mr. Bemis had been ill two 
weeks, suffering from appendicitis.  At the time of the operation it was found 
that he was also suffering from other serious complications.

He was a lifelong resident of Easton township, having been born about three 
miles from Ionia on M-44.  He was 34 years of age.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Blanche Bemis; his mother, Mrs. C. E. Higbee 
of Butternut, one sister, Mrs. Glenn Thorp, of Ionia; two brothers, Lynn 
Bemis, who lives at Coldwater, and Ernest Bemis, who lives near Belding.

The funeral announcement will be made later.
