Benedict, son of the late Loren Benedict, born in Otisco, Ionia county, in 1843, sixty-five years and seven months ago, died at the home in Orange, on Bellevue road, three and a half miles south of Ionia city, just after midnight Fri. morning. All his life since he was two years old had been passed in the neighborhood where he died. About ten days ago he suffered an injury of his hand, and on Friday, a week before his death, he complained that his arm pained him. On Saturday, he and his wife went to town, to see Dr. ?? who was out of the city. He did not ?? a doctor until the following Thursday, when Dr. Winchell was sent for. It was a case of blood poisoning, and the delay was fatal. He had been in poor health all the spring, and his condition probably had something to do with the speedy work of the infection. He was married to Rosilla Wolverton, who survives. There are six children also surviving: Earl of Ronald, Ross and Elmer of Orange, Elta, wife of Albert Hinds of Orange, Miss Anna and Floyd, living at home. The funeral service was held at the home on Sunday afternoon at 2. Interment, Balcom cemetery.
