H. Benedict, wife of Wm. G. Benedict, had just dropped dead at her residence on the west side of the river. It seems that Mrs. Benedict was engaged about her washing, there being no one present but her mother, when she suddenly fell to the floor without uttering a word. Assistance was immediately called in, but there was only a gasp as they lifted her to the sofa, and life was extinct. Dr. Hugg was called, who pronounced the cause of her death disease of the heart. Mrs. Benedict was in her usual health up to the time she fell, but has for several years been subject to a rheumatic difficulty, which at times agitated her heart considerably. The deceased has been a resident of this place for many years, and was well known as one of the milliners of this place. Her sudden death was a hard blow to her husband, to whom she had been married but about four years. The funeral services will be held at her late residence at two o’clock tomorrow afternoon.
