Mrs. Frankie M. Benedict Dies Saturday

Had Been Resident of Ionia the Past Half Century; Recent Fall Hastens Death
After Lingering Illness.

An illness of many months’ duration terminated Saturday afternoon in the death
of Mrs. Frankie M. Benedict, 77, at the home of her sister, Mrs. Joel T.
Benedict, 337 Rich Street.  Some weeks ago Mrs. Benedict suffered a fractured
hip in a fall and her health already seriously impaired by her long sickness,
failed rapidly thereafter until the end.

Mrs. Benedict was the mother of Dr. Richard L. Benedict and had been a resident
of Ionia since 1871.  She was the widow of Frank Benedict whose death occurred a
number of years ago.

Arrangements for the funeral were being completed Saturday afternoon and
announcement was to be made later of the time and place for the services.
