Robert McComb officiating. Interment will be in Highland Park cemetery. Miss Benedict, 88, who was making her home in East Lansing died Wednesday in a convalescent home there. Born in Ionia, October 21, 1879 she was the daughter of O.M. Benedict and Sara Yates Benedict and was a member of one of the oldest pioneer families of the area. She was a retired school teacher having attended Ypsilanti normal and University of Chicago and taught at Mishawaka, Ind., South Bend, Ind., and moved to Cleveland and taught and was principal in the Cleveland public school system 23 years, retiring in 1944. She was a member of the First Christian church in Ionia. After leaving her home in Cleveland, she made her home with a niece Mrs. L.W. Kelner in East Lansing.
