Ionia Sentinel Standard, 3 Jun 1985

Ralph C. Benedict, 91, 1?00 Lillian Blvd, Portland, died Monday in the O’Neil
Convalescent Home.  He was born June 21, 1893, the son of Joel and Bertha Dietz
Benedict.

He was a World War I veteran serving in France with the United States Army’s
16th Engineers.  He was a member of the Portland American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Nettie, two daughters, Kathryn Allen of Grand Ledge
and Edith Lindberg of Dearborn, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services were Thursday at 1:30 p.m. from the Neller Funeral Home, with
the Rev. Dow Chamberlain officiating.  Burial will be in the Portland Cemetery.
