Archibald Benedict died on Sunday morning. He was 31 years old, and leaves wife and a daughter about five years old. He was the son of Frank W. Benedict, and besides his parents leaves one brother, Richard. He was taken sick about a year ago, and went to Colorado in early summer in hopes of benefit, which were not realized. The disease was consumption and he failed steadily from the start. He was appointed assistant postmaster July 1, 1900, and resigned Jan. 15, 1906. Previous to that he served as clerk of the deep water ways commission at Detroit. He was competent and faithful in the discharge of his duties, and his genial nature made him a universal favorite; he was the friend of everybody, and everybody was his friend. He had $5,000 insurance - $2,000 in each of the Maccabee orders, and $1,000 in the Royal Arcanum. Funeral service at residence of L.A. Willard, 201 Wall street, Tuesday afternoon, at 2 o’clock.
