Mrs. Benedict was a daughter of the late James F. Dalzell of North Plains, and of her immediate family only two brothers survive her, Charles of Muir, and Fred of this city. She lost her daughter about two years ago, which depressed her very much. Mr. and Mrs. Benedict had been married about fourteen years, and the last five years had been residents of Ionia city. Mrs. Benedict had many friends, won through her kindliness of heart and genuineness of feeling. The funeral will be held at the home on Friday at 1:30. Rev. R.J. Slee will have charge of the services and the interment will be in the Balcom cemetery in Berlin township. ------ The funeral for Mrs. Ross Benedict was attended at the home on East Main street on Friday afternoon. Rev. R.J. Slee conducted the service, and Mrs. Willis L. Peck and Mrs. R.A. Colwell furnished the music. The bearers were Fred Dalzell, Frank Benedict, Floyd Benedict, Albert Hinds, Lester Wolverton and Fred Benedict, and interment was in the Balcom cemetery in Berlin township. A large number of friends and neighbors attended the service and followed the remains to the cemetery, and there was an unusually large number of most beautiful flowers. Relatives from out of town were Fred Benedict of Big Rapids, George Dalzell and family from Muir, Floyd Benedict and family from Muir, Mrs. Ella Holmes of Belding, and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Benedict of Greenville. [Transcriber Note: There is a notation on the obituary card that she was the daughter of John and Julia (Stewart) Dalzell.] File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/mi/ionia/obits/b/benedict17116nob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/mifiles/ File size: 2.5 Kb
