The Ionia Daily Standard, Tuesday, November 28, 1916

Emerson Benedict died Sunday night in Berlin township, and the funeral 
services were held this afternoon at the home of his brother, Abe Benedict, 
with burial in Balcom cemetery.  He leaves a daughter and two sons, one of 
them, Fred Benedict, living in this city.  He was a brother of Mrs. Henry 
Sprague and uncle of Ross Benedict of this city.
