Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 14 Jul 1954

Elmer Benedict, 72, Berlin township, died Tuesday evening, July 13, at the 
Ionia County Memorial Hospital.  He had been ill for the last two weeks.  He 
was born July 3, 1882, in Berlin township and was a life-long resident of Ionia 
county and had lived on his present farm on Bennett Road for the last 30 
years.  He was a member of the Berlin Center Methodist church and the Berlin 
Center Grange.

Surviving are his wife, Lena; two sons, Charles of Berlin and Paul of Lake 
Odessa; five grandchildren; one brother, Floyd, of Orange township and one 
sister Mrs. Anna Williams of Orange.

The body reposes at Morris funeral home in Saranac and funeral services will be 
conducted Friday afternoon at 2:30 at the Le Valley Methodist church with the 
Rev. Earl Carpenter officiating.  Burial will be at Saranac cemetery.
