Benedict, 70, died Wednesday evening at his home on route four after an illness of several years. He was born in Orange township July 30, 1892, the son of George W. and Drusilla Wolverton Benedict, and had spent his entire life on that farm. October 1, 1918 he was married in Berlin township to Edith Brickley. Mr. Benedict was moderator and director of Benedict school 21 years and was a member of Ionia County Farm Bureau. Preceding him in death were three brothers, Earl, Ross and Elmer, and two sisters, Mrs. Albert Hinds and Mrs. Anna Williams. Survivors include his wife, Edith and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon at Stone- Kauffman funeral home with interment in the family lot at Balcom cemetery.
