The Ionia Daily Sentinel, Monday, October 12, 1959
Lewis B. Benedict, 64, 217 Fairplains street, a veteran of World War I, died 
Saturday morning at Greenville United Memorial hospital where he had been a 
patient for three weeks.  Mr. Benedict was a lifetime resident of the 
Greenville area.  He was born at Langston April 1, 1895, and was married to 
June Storey December 1917.  She preceded him in death in January 1946.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. T. J. (Maxine) Whitford of Ionia; his mother, 
Mrs. Mary Benedict of Stanton; two granddaughters; four sisters, Mrs. Jack 
(Minnie) Kurnat and Mrs. Ernie (Anna) Woods of Greenville, Mrs. John Hansen of 
Belding and Mrs. Bessie Richard of Stanton, and one brother, Lee Earl Benedict 
of Greenville.  Two brothers, Chester and Ray, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Brown-Teman 
funeral home at Greenville. The Rev. H. S. Ellis will officiate.  Burial will 
be at the Langston cemetery.
