Daily Sentinel (Pg. 5) - Wednesday, Oct. 17, 1945

Arton L. Benedict, 71, died at his home, 529 Hall street, Tuesday evening, 
following a heart attack he had while working at the Methodist church, where 
he was employed as janitor.

Surviving besides he wife are two daughters, Beverly of Kalamazoo and Doris 
of Lansing; a son, Barton, of Grand Rapids; a grandson, Douglas Benedict, of 
Ionia; a brother, Fred of Midland, and a sister, Mrs. Nora Long, of Saranac. 

He was born January 29, 1874, in Orange township, and was married to Nellie 
Adgate August 20, 1902. He spent most of his life in Ionia township, and the 
last 13 years had been a resident of Ionia. He was a member of the LeValley 
Methodist church.

Prayer service at 1:30 p.m. at the Stone funeral home will precede the 
funeral services at the LeValley Methodist church Friday at 2:30 o'clock. 
Interment will be at Balcom cemetery.
