The funeral took place Saturday from the home at 1:30 fast time, and services at the LeValley church in Orange at 2:30. Interment was made in Balcom cemetery. The deceased was born in the LeValley neighborhood, and always maintained his grest interest in everything pertaining to its welfare, including the building a few years ago of the new church, where he was married to Grace Townsend, who survives him, together with six children; George, Emery, Albert, Greta, Roscoe, and Verla. Wherever he had lived since leaving the old homestead district Mr. Benedict had been an indefatigable worker for home, church, and school interest. He was largely instrumental in the building of the new Case district schoolhouse in Ronald while living in that vicinity, in which he also continued to maintain a lively interest, and was chairman for Friday’s evening community meeting, which was postponed on account of his death. With the construction of the new road past his property at Muir, Mr. benedict had planned a vigorous program of improvements, he having added to his farm by the recent purchase of the former Jay Olmstead property. On going to Muir, he and his family cast their church allegiance to the Presbyterian society, to which they were valuable additions. Mr. Benedict was active in planning and building the church annex a few years ago, and was a member of the board of trustees at the time of his death. In the building of the annex addition to Union church in Ronald, built after the pattern of the Muir annex, Mr. Benedict was active in planning and actual construction. Of him it may be said that verily his works do follow him.
