Mrs. Benedict’s last illness was brief, only about a week, with la grippe, but the attack was too severe for her enfeebled constitution. Mrs. Benedict was the daughter of Nelson Tuttle, and the widow of Hutson Benedict, both gone hence. She leaves to mourn her demise, one daughter by adoption, Mrs. Grace Benedict Feeny, and two sisters, Mrs. Wm. Adgate and Mrs. Ferguson of Orange. Deceased was aged 64 years, and for the most part of the 20 years last past was a resident of Ionia. She was beloved for her womanly qualities and her splendid devotion to every principle of good. Dr. M. M. Callen officiated at the funeral service, and there was lovely singing by Mrs. G. M. Phelps and Miss Kate Benedict. Mrs. Benedict was a member of the Methodist church of this city.
