She was born Jan. 28, 1938, in Clarksville, the daughter to Chester and Catherine (Tucker) Warner. Carolyn graduated from Saranac High School, Class of 1956. She married Earl Benedict on April 21, 1957, in Saranac. Carolyn was a member of Berlin Center Church and United Methodist Women (UMW). Carolyn worked at Gittlemen’s Clothing, Larry’s Dime Store, and Meijer for 23 years. Carolyn is survived by her husband, Earl Benedict of Saranac; daughter, Connie (Joe) Orlowski of Saranac; grandchildren, Ashley (Joshua) Ryan of Charlotte and Josh Orlowski of Saranac; great-grandchildren, Cooper Ryan of Charlotte; brothers, Bill (Ellen) Warner of Ionia, Jim (Frances) Warner of Lowell, and Dan (Darlene) Warner of Scottsville. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Charles and brothers, Jack, Gary, and Tom Warner. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 14 at Belin Center Church with Pastor Ray Sundell and Pastor David Flagel officiating. Visitation will be Monday, April 13 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia.
