She was born in Ionia County on September 15, 1934 to Robert and Laura (Sible) Cobb. Jean was preceded in death by her first husband, Bernard Edgel, and her parents. She was a long-time resident of “Little Venice,” Sunfield Township, living with her family at their store. Jennie and Bernie were married for 43 years. Jeannie was also Sunfield Township Treasurer for several years. In 2005 Jean married John Benedict of Lake Odessa. Jean was a loving wife, and wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. She was a life-long member of the Church of Christ, where she served as Treasurer, Sunday School teacher, as well as serving on mission trips. At home she loved having company and doting on her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Jean is survived by her second husband, John Benedict; son, Kim (Gloria) Edgel; daughters, Connie (Scott) Warren and Shannan (Nathan) Hull; six grandchildren, Angel (Jon) Clack, Gabriel Warren, Aaron Edgel, Levi Hull, Nekoda Hull, and Caleb Hull; two great grandsons, Jonathan and Jacob Clack; sister and brothers, Donna (Larry) Swarthout, Ronald (Colleen) Cobb, Larry (Sara) Cobb, and Robert Jr. (Lynda) Cobb; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at the Ionia County Church of Christ (7831 N. Jordan Lake Road) from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 and from 2 p.m. until the time of service on Wednesday. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the Ionia County Church of Christ. Burial will be in Sunfield Cemetery. The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to the Ionia County Church of Christ for the support of Missions. Arrangements were made by the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa.
