Frank Benedict passed away at 10:15 o’clock on Tuesday night, after his long and painful illness of about a year. It was on Monday, Sept. 30, 1907, when Mr. Benedict as driver of Lauster Bros’ bakery wagon, collided with the west bound mid-day passenger train at the Mill street crossing, and received the injuries which it is presumed finally resulted in his death. He was aged 63 years past, and had been a resident of Ionia for more than 30 years. He was born in Oakland county, Michigan, and was married in the Upper Peninsula. To this union three children were born, Archie, Marion and Richard, last named being the only survivor. Mr. Benedict’s employment for several years preceding his last illness was such that it brought him into personal contact with many persons, and his always polite and kindly ways won for him hosts of friends. The funeral will be attended from the home on Jones street, on Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock.
