The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, July 19, 1954
Funeral services for Elmer Benedict, who died Tuesday, were held Friday 
afternoon at the LeValley church with the Rev. Earl Carpenter officiating.  
Mrs. Francis Larson was organist.  The Berlin Center Grange members attended 
in a group.

Pallbearers were Alden Smith, Arthur Smith, Howard Denman, Wayne Sherwood, 
Ernest Sherwood, and Russell Taylor, all Berlin Center Grange members except 
Wayne Sherwood.

Burial was at Saranac cemetery.  Grange burial services were conducted at 
graveside by Russell Taylor and Mrs. Alden Smith, master and chaplain of the 
Berlin Center Grange.
