The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Monday, January 4, 1904


Mrs. Ross Benedict, of Orange, died this morning of spinal paralysis.  She was 
intending to entertain a party of relatives today, and had dispatched her 
husband to deliver some of the invitations.  He had just returned and driven 
into the barn.  She tried to signal him with a bell, but discovering she had 
no use of her arms, she started for the barn, and fell inside as she reached 
the door, and expired soon thereafter.  Deceased was the daughter of Robert 
Reese, and was aged 25 years.  Besides her husband, she leaves one child.  
Funeral at LeValley church at 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
